FUNK PARADE RETURNS MAY 11TH: Annual Funk Parade Returns with New Leadership, Acts & Wristband Portal!

WASHINGTON, DC [April 4, 2019] – Funk Parade season is upon us.  The official theme for the entire 2019 Festival is “Keepin’ The Funk Alive.”  The theme is a celebration of the restored vision and commitment of The MusicianShip to grow the festival into the future, building a bridge to connect our city’s youngest up-and-coming artists and musicians, to DC’s musical history, culture, and its most talented musicians.  Funk Parade 2019 is happening Saturday May 11th. The Festival starts at 1:00pm, the Parade kicks off at 5:00pm and the Night Music Festival begins at 7:00pm.

Supporters can purchase $10 wristbands for the Night Music Festival, $20 wristbands for the Featured Showcase at the Historic Prince Hall Lodge, as well as wristbands to the Funk Parade Conference, happening the morning of Saturday May 11th. As always, supporters can purchase Funk Parade T-Shirts, merch, and more, which will also be available on the website soon.

NIGHT MUSIC FESTIVAL WRISTBAND
Ten dollars gets Funk Parade supporters a wristband which will provide priority entry into the  the festival’s key evening music venues: Tropicalia, DC9, Ben’s Next Door, Sollys, Velvet Lounge, Archipelago, Local 16, Shaw, Bin 1301, Busboys & Poets, Marvin, Songbyrd Music House, Pearl Street Warehouse, Jo Jos, The Saloon and more to be announced.

Certain venues will be providing various discounts and perks for wristband holders.  Check back on the website and the wristband link in a couple of weeks to find out about these specials.

The wristband program is designed to create a more sustainable future for Funk Parade, with a model that can continue to pay artists fairly and sustain the music education mission of The MusicianShip.

Note: The Night Music Festival Wristband does not include entry to the Featured Showcase.

How To Get Your Wristbands
Funk Parade has partnered with Eventbrite to sell the wristbands. To buy yours, Click  https://www.funkparade.com/wristbands Wristbands will also be available the day of the festival (May 11th) at the Funk Parade Volunteer or Merch Tents at the Main Stage, HFA Lot and Industrial Bank Lot from 1:00pm – 7:00pm.  These supporter wristbands will also be on sale at official Funk Parade venues.

To redeem your pre-purchased wristbands, visit the Funk Parade Volunteer and Merch Tents during the hours of 1:00pm and 7:00pm on Saturday May 11th.

FUNK PARADE FEATURED SHOWCASE WRISTBAND
The 2019 Featured Showcase will be taking place at the Historic Prince Hall Lodge on the evening of May 11th.  Wristbands to the Featured Showcase will be $20 with proceeds benefiting The MusicianShip. Proceeds from the purchases of food and beverage at the Featured Showcase will benefit the Prince Hall Freemason & Eastern Star Charitable Foundation . FUNK PARADE CONFERENCE WRISTBAND
For the first time ever Funk Parade will will be hosting a conference. On the morning of May 11th, Funk Parade supporters will have an opportunity to hear from influencers and subject matter experts on a myriad of topics, ranging from music, to social impact, to local happenings.
